MINT! Minolta 35mm Prod 20’s Cult Camera
If you’ve seen our items before you’ll know that we service and sell fine prewar cameras such as Contax, Leica, Super Ikonta, Bessa RF, Rolleiflex and more. Personally I love all of these cameras but as a collector I’m also interested in other brands and models as well. Frankly a collectable camera doesn’t always need to cost a small fortune to be enjoyable. There are some modestly priced collectables that will deliver interesting results and a lot of fun. With this in mind, let me introduce you to a lovely cult camera and a future classic… it’s called the Minolta Prod 20’s.
It’s a 35mm auto-everything camera with class. Comparing it to historically significant prewar cameras, it’s obvious where the designers got their inspiration from. It’s not a straight copy of anything but rather a blend of 1930’s camera design cues. It seems to have a little bit of Argus, Universal, Mercury and even a dash of Leica in it. But it’s not the little details that intrigue me but rather the way it blends visually into a very pretty design. It’s a lovely little camera that you, or your significant other might enjoy on a vacation. Easy to use, easy on the eye and certain to receive pleasant comments from people who see it, it’s simply a lot of fun to use. And we all deserve some fun...
There are indications that the Minolta Prod 20’s is now becoming hard to find, as users and collectors are buying them up. So here’s your chance to get one of your own. This is as good as it gets, it’s in mint condition and even has the original, removable clear plastic protector on the base of the camera. Included is an original protective camera bag and a camera strap. (Film and batteries not included.)
All in all, a very enjoyable collectable camera.
