This is a freshly serviced 6x9 Zeiss Ikon Ikonta produced after WWII in circa 1956. It folds out to 6 x 9 cm photos on normal 120 roll film. Bright exposures alive with all the details, lovely colors and rich tonal range that only medium format can provide. When it comes to photography, bigger is better and this camera can produce a large negative that’s more than six times larger than the average 35mm snap shot. The real appeal is that all of this is produced by a camera that folds up into a small package. So whether you're interested in fine grain, rich tonal values or lovely colors, this vintage camera is a great companion and its compact size will never give you a reason to leave it at home.

This camera is based on the legendary Super Ikonta. It was a more modest version which cut costs by using an inexpensive body covering. But don’t let this fool you, it still shares the many of the same parts and design features that makes high performance possible. This included the body, real leather bellows, struts, doors, pressure plate and many other details. All of this of course means that it’s a camera that’s a real joy to use. Run some film through this camera and I guarantee you you’ll be happy with the results.  

I’ll let you in on a secret… The real reason you want this camera is because of its stunning “T” coated Carl Zeiss 105mm Tessar lens. This lens is identical to the those used on the legendary postwar Super Ikonta cameras. A camera which sell for four times the price! So if you’ve been looking for an affordable high performance 6x9 camera, you’ve just found it.  

Also nice to know, is that this camera is also capable of producing 6x4.5 negatives if you have a suitable reduction mask in your collection. (Mask not included.)

This camera has been carefully cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. Everything works as it should. The leather bellows are supple and light tight. The view finder is clean and clear. The shutter works well and all speeds (B & 1sec - 1/250^th) are appropriate. The slow speeds buzz along smoothly and the fast ones are clean and snappy. This shutter is synchronized for flash.  It’s been adjusted & tested and works with a normal electronic flash. Your flash will fire correctly at any desired shutter speed. This is of course a very convenient feature for flash fill.

The Carl Zeiss 3.5/105mm lens is in exceptionally fine condition and looks virtually new. It’s clean and clear. There are no scratches, no cleaning marks and it’s capable of producing beautiful photos with modern color and B&W films.

It comes complete with a lovely Zeiss-Ikon brown leather case.

All in all a very fine classic camera. Load it with your favorite film and keep it handy for that perfect shot you’ve been looking for. You know the one... the one with the perfect Ansel Adams light breaking through the dark storm clouds that leaves you wishing that you had a classic camera with you.
