Voigtlander
1932 Voigtlander Vag 6x9 Plate Camera and Rollex Patent Roll Film Back. Freshly serviced, CLA’d
Cleaned, Lubricated & Adjusted. Ready for immediate use!
This is a Voigtlander 6.5x9cm camera in exceptionally fine condition. This model was produced in Germany from 1931 to 1934. When closed (without the roll-film back) its external dimensions are only approximately 13 x 10 x3.5 cm, which makes for a compact traveling companion for vacation fun.
The serial number of the lens (655034) indicate that it was produced in circa 1932. The reliable Emezet shutter has been carefully cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. It works well, all shutter speeds (T, B, 1/25th, 1/50th & 1/100th) are appropriate and release cleanly.
The lens on this camera is a classic 105mm Voigtlander Anastigmat Voigtar. The design of this lens is based on a classic Cooke design (three elements in three groups). It’s well known in Europe for its very pleasing rendering and attractive bokeh. The lens is exceptionally clean and looks virtually like new. There are no scratches or cleaning marks and it’s capable of producing very lovely photos with modern color and black & white film.
It comes complete with a Rollex-Patent film back. This back will allow you to use easily available 120 roll-film. This film back can be removed and will also fit the 6x9 versions of the Voigtlander Avus & Bergheil plate cameras. (Which is rather nice if you happen to have them in your collection.)
All in all, a very enjoyable vintage camera in exceptionally fine condition. One that will allow you to experience what it’s like to work with a plate camera at a very modest price. It’s all ready to use. Just add your favorite film.
