This is an exceptionally fine Fujica GW690, fondly referred to as the “Texas Leica” by its many fans around the world. It’s a cult classic which doesn’t need much of an introduction. It features a big, easy to use coupled rangefinder which makes focusing quick and easy. And despite the huge 6x9 negative it produces, it’s such a balanced well thought out design that it feels just at home in the hand as it does on a tripod. Either way you’ll be producing some of the finest photos possible. The Fuji lens is fantastically sharp. It uses a leaf shutter which eliminates camera vibration and increases resolution. Additionally the leaf shutter allows an electronic flash to fire correctly at any desired shutter speed. (This is of course very convenient for fill flash.) A 6x9 piece of film is huge and inherently allows for massive amounts of resolution, color gradients and tonal renditions. Which of course makes this camera very popular with artists, landscape photographers and fine portrait photographers.

This camera is from my personal camera collection and has seen very little use. (I have too many cameras and too little time.) It’s stunningly beautiful and the counter under the camera is just nudging past 40. Needless to say, that’s very low milage…

Everything is clean, spotless and the camera works as it should. The coated Fujinon 3.5/90mm lens looks like new. It’s clean and clear. There are no scratches, no cleaning marks. It comes complete with a UV filter and lens cap and it’s capable of producing very lovely photos with modern color and B&W films.

All in all, a wonderful cult classic camera. Load it with your favorite film and keep it handy for that perfect shot you’ve been looking for. You know the one... the one with the perfect Ansel Adams light breaking through the dark storm clouds that leaves you wishing you had a 6x9 medium format camera with you.
