This is a lovely 3.5/50mm coated Elmar lens which can be used on all Leica screw mount cameras (as well as Canon, Bessa and other Leica inspired designs). Additionally it can also be used on the later Leica M models if you have an adapter.

This is a coated Leitz f3.5/50mm Elmar and its serial number, 770264, indicates that it was produced in Germany in circa 1950. It's from my personal collection and it had always produced beautiful photos. I'm now down sizing my collection a bit to make more room for other acquisitions. So here's an opportunity for you to pick up a  great lens if you're looking for a bit more contrast and a brighter color rendition than an uncoated lens normally provides. Personally I'm very fond of the rendition of an uncoated lens for color prints but when it comes to B&W imagery, I tend to prefer this coated Elmar.

The lens is in great shape, focus and aperture adjustment moves smoothy. The glass is clean and clear. There are no scratches, just some light cleaning wisps (but you'll need a magnifier to see them) and it’s capable of producing very lovely photos on modern color and B&W films

All in all, a sharp, compact lens with that special Leica character that will perfectly complement your classic Leica.
